VBMA Presents Frank Lloyd Wright and His Influence on Florida Architecture, a Florida Humanities Lecture with Historian Wayne Wood. It’s the second Florida Talks lecture sponsored by Florida Humanities and hosted by Vero Beach Museum of Art this summer. Frank Lloyd Wright and His Influence on Florida Architecture promises to be an educational program that will give the audience an in-depth understanding of the vast work of America’s greatest architect. Wayne Wood has been called the “undisputed godfather of preservation in Jacksonville” and has published 20 books on Northeast Florida, including his best-known, Jacksonville’s Architectural Heritage: Landmarks for the Future. He is also an honorary member of the American Institute of Architects and is a board member of the Florida Foundation for Architecture. The September 12 lecture is free to the public, as is admission to the Museum’s exhibitions as part of VBMA’s Second Saturdays programming; however, pre-registration for the lecture is required. Hey, all: our Wednesday morning visit resulted in a less than crowded gallery and fantastic individual attention from the docents and volunteers. The guards also were polite - almost to a fault. Every red-blooded American will benefit from this fabulous display and celebration of the two hundred fiftieth birthday of these United States of America!

6/7/26 Update: Today we visited for the last day of the American Art Exhibit and it was wonderful!I have attached a photo and my haul from the gift shop which makes me super happy. Unfortunately and fortunately, there is construction starting so the museum is not in its previous standing (see photos). However, it will be phenomenal when it's done. I'm very excited for when that time comes. Previous review- Vero Beach is very lucky to have this beautiful art museum. We have been to several exhibits here and they are carefully coordinated, well executed, and the best part ...everyone including our teenagers loved them! We visited during the Rolling Sculpture exhibit, pardon me, I call it the car exhibit..however, you choose to define it it was really awesome 😎💯 ! My late step dad really loved it. I'm glad he was around to see it. It is located near Riverside Park which is a nice place to walk and view the Indian River after your visit. There are many shops and restaurants in the area as well. You just do not want to miss this stop on your trip here. The staff is kind, knowledgeable and welcoming. The gift shop has unique items and we always buy something to support this great local getaway.

Their children’s art festival was so much fun, and very engaging for the kids and adults alike. Their permanent collections are fantastic as well. Debbie, one of the docents, was so kind and informative! Very much enjoyed our visit, I’m looking forward to coming again.

We took in the "Made in America" exhibit today. Excellent works on display from a private collection. Well worth a visit and when they finish the major renovations the facility is going to be stunning.

A beautiful and inspiring experience from start to finish. The museum offers a thoughtfully curated collection with something for everyone, from timeless classics to contemporary works. The space itself is peaceful and well-designed, allowing you to truly enjoy each exhibit. The staff is welcoming and knowledgeable, adding to the overall experience. A wonderful cultural gem worth visiting again and again.

A lovely museum and such a pleasant surprise... The galleries are well laid out, and the exhibits are thoughtfully curated a nice mix of classic and modern works. The building itself is beautiful, and the atmosphere is calm and welcoming. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the gift shop had some really nice finds. I wish the sculpture garden had been open during my visit, but overall it was a great experience. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re in the area...!

I came here by foot after doing some kayaking, and stuffing myself at a local restaurant. I'm afraid I annoyed one of the staff there talking back and forth in my sleep-deprived state. But I got a kick out of seeing everything here. I was genuinely surprised to see they had films at this art museum. A lot of the films I haven't even heard of, and some of these films I decided to watch. I was not disappointed. I hope these people stick around for a long time. They had some more traditional art. I uploaded some pictures so that you can see.

Great pace to review some early American art, guides wander around and talk to you no reason to take a tour , unless you want to,
